Thread: Where to buy a boat

I just purchased a boat in September and love it. I purchased a triton tr17 ( hence the name ) bass boat thru the bargain post. I looked on ebay and local sources for about 2 months. Ebay has a lot of boats, some good some not so good. Look on boattrader.com ( I think ) they have a lot of used boats in the Tulsa and Ok city area that are at dealers and individuals. The usually have pictures and price so you can pick and chose as you like. Seemed there were some good deals to be had. Most were priced around book value, but thrre were a few that looked good. I liked used because the first scratch is always the most expensive. One thing that I would highly suggest on a used boat it make sure and take it for a test drive, On this outing check every circuit you can think of. ( livewells, lights, bilge, trolling motor, fishfinders, guages, compartment lids for cracks, etc,etc,etc. ) Last but not least if you like her enough to buy her have a prepurchase inspection done. I had mine done at Outboard Motor Repair. I watched him check compression, the electrical system, fuel system, lower unit, he made sure it was proped correctly, among other things. I felt really good about the motor after this. Just my thoughts, hope it helps.
