I have only seen shad spawn in the spring, maybe they do more than once a year tho. I would be interested to know myself.
Mods can change as they see fit.
Just curious if the shad spawn is over in the creeks. It's been a tough bite the last couple of times because the shad were easy pickins' for the crappie. Going to try it later this week maybe Rock or fish creek. Never been to Gaines but willing to drive it.

Shad spawn in late spring when the water temp reaches 75 to 80 deg. Growth rates are different on each body of water depending on how fertile the lake is. In some lakes such as Kaw, last springs hatch are 2 to 3 inches long. In other lakes they may be smaller or larger.

Has anyone been to Molly Brown lately? Was thinking about heading down there Saturday with my son for the first time and was wondering if they’ve been biting?
