Default Good bite at Carl Blackwell

Hit the dock at CB right before leaving for Montana, and got 42 crappie. Kept 25, mostly 11"-13", with one 15"er. They were mostly at 14', but were everywhere from 3'-16'. Tried minnows and jigs, with good results on both. They liked a very slow upward movement, with an occasional little twitch when using the jigs.
Apparently, no one is spreading the word (or maybe it was just a single great day for fishing.........wait a sec, ANY day is a great day for fishing), but there was hardly anyone there. A young lady must have caught 70 fish on minnows, but she was deadsticking, and most of her fish were smaller (upward movement drawing bites from larger fish?)
As a btw, we've been here in Dillon for two nights already, and the low temps were 36 and 52 degrees. but a real scorcher of high 80's is on its way.
    Have a great summer y'all.

Forgot to mention that dead minnows got nearly all of the bigger fish. Go figure.

Fished 9:30 'til about 2 p.m. There's one guy up there who only fishes large, dead minnows. He goes by the saying: Pinch the head. Make 'em dead.
