Default Double Dipping Tips in this thread

I spider rig when it's slow....OK that's been all year for me because 95% of the time I only get to fish on Saturdays and the crappie know that. I've figured out the secret that crappie fasts on Saturdays.
I digress and say I really like to feel the thump on the rod handle when double dipping. That feel just keep me coming back.
As for my tip, I have times where they seem to want that thing as still as it can be. There are other times I raise the rod tip a foot or 2 and drop is slowly and they'll nail it. My wife and I both tip our 2" Yum Wooly Beavertails with crappie niblets. I like it just for an added dimension and I'm running out of Wooly Beavertails!
I normally use only two jigs separated by about a foot to 18" on loop knots. I have used up to 4 jigs to cover the water column. Hate that when I get hung up though.
Looking at buying some more expensive rods like the Huckabee series. Currently I have Wally Marshalls and B n M's. I've broken a few tips on these so looking at a little more backbone on the tips without losing the sensitivity.
We troll the jigs between 0.2 and 0.5 MPH just to change it up to help.
I'm just looking for some more tips to be successful when double dipping my jigs.

Have a couple of tips that may help you or someone else.
First invest in some Timmy Toms Weedless Jigs. Yes you can still get hung up but I promise you they make you into a confident angler and less frustrated from retying many jigs. As for me taking guys n gals fishing some experienced and some not I am fishing now and not becoming frustrated from lost tackle and time lost from fishing.
Second learn the rubber band technique to get a jig unhung from wood. It also works at times in rock also. This technique will not work with braid due to the stretching effect you get from mono verses braid.
Third is my #3 rule. When you think you are fishing slow enough slow down even more. Moving fast you will move over so many willing fish that you would miss otherwise.
Fourth which you already touched on is using a willow limb Rod to fish with. My #1 petpeave is a limber rod. So many fish are lost because you can't turn them and get them out of the wood. Reason I use along with anyone that fishes in my boat the Pro Series Huckabee Rod.
Fith and last for now is bigger baits. Bigger profile, causing more vibration in the water, and so much easier for the fish to see and tune into. You mentioned the yum beavertail which was discontinued but Beaver Bottom Baits is making a new 2" series beavertail in all the great colors. Also Fle Fly which I use has a bait called Crappie Kicker that's an awesome bait as well. I never use a bait smaller than 3" and now using the 4" version. Yes there is a time when a smaller bait is needed and that's when the shad fry are hatching and the crappie are targeting that size bait.
Hope this helps if not you but others as well.........Ranger

I love my Huckabee's. I have the meat draggas. I use 20 lb braid with an 1/8 oz tied to top and 1/4 oz tied to bottom. Just be careful with braid that it doesn't get tipped wrap and you set the hook. Chances are the tip will get weakened and break at some point.

One note, the rubber band trick works with braid 95% of the time for me.
