Default Muddy Waters - Got Your Mojo Working or Just the Blues!

Not sure how the rest of the area lakes are looking; I'm pretty limited to Fort Gibson since my boat is kept on the water there and I'm not into towing a 28' footer up and down the highway. Gibson is still a mud hole ever since the flood and still no signs of clearing. I would think that Hudson and Grand are same which could make for an interesting B.A.S.S. Classic for them. But when it comes to crappie and muddy water I can't seem to get my mojo working; just singing the blues!

Do you folks got any tips or suggestion for muddy water pre-spawn crappie?

Lonnie, I don't think the muddy water is the problem for me at least. I have fished 5 different lakes since Christmas and mostly struggled on all of them. Fish seem more scattered than normal and when I do find them schooled I can usually only catch a few before they shut down. I know probably most people can catch em scattered but not me- not yet tho I am getting in quite a bit of practice! I'm still blaming the carpet shad phenomenon.

That would probably be better; for sure there would be some clear water coming in there. Only thing for me being on bottom end it would take a tank of fuel or more to push the barge up that far, at least I could always float back.

Ciller, I'm not familiar with the "carpet shad phenomenon" what is that and have you seen it on FG? All I know to do is just keep fishing, sooner or later things are bound to change right!

I think Fishers coined the term " carpet shad" to refer to the hundred yard long .schools of shad we have been seeing on most lakes around here. I haven't fished FG since fall so I don't know if it's going on there or not. Maybe the water turkeys have thinned em out for you!
