Belongs in the Camp Forum. That's why it was set up. Thinking about "bumping" it over there as we cannot have duplicate posts/threads. Just sayin.....

CR, I agree on the concept of duplicate posts. This post was intended to direct folks to the Crappie Camp Subforum for more details. If you think it is inappropriate delete it.

CR, after reviewing past posts this year, I noticed quite a few announcements about future and past Oklahoma tournaments in the Main Oklahoma Forum, so I'm assuming your comments will apply to the Tournament folks. Just saying.....

A valid assumption and I agree. There is no point for duplicate threads anywhere on the board. I'll speak with Doug about the tournament posts. I'll ask Ed to remove the Camp section and merge those into the off topic. I didn't say anything about the tournament threads due to Doug telling me that there was a discussion and they have decided to end the tournaments and instead have get togethers for fishing certain lakes that are doing good at the time.

That said, the existing Tournament posts shall be sent into the archives and have the tournament section eliminated as well, but before this is done, I'd like to speak with Doug and get his thoughts.

If a member does not take the time to look at the other sub forums, then they must not be too interested in them in the first place.

The Main Oklahoma forum is for Crappie fishing posts while everything else belongs in the off topic. The camps are great and wonderful and I think you do a fabulous job in organizing them. But with so many camps that go on, they tend to use up too much of the Main Forum page albeit it's coming on winter and the fishing reports will slow. I have purposely left alone the posts that might ask for prayers for someone and other sensitive subjects that all members might be interested in. Ed graciously set up the Camp section for those members that are interested so as to give them their own section. If you want it to remain, then please let me know.

Thank you for your input and I'll get started on the changes as soon and I hear back from you and Doug.

If I can't make the winter camp, I'm sending a box of goodies to be given away to the folks that attend. I'll get with Allen on that if I don't go.

Although I disagree with your comments about too many camp posts in the Main Oklahoma Forum ( I'll do more research), we definitely want to keep the Crappie Camp SubForum....dave

CR, I think most people, me included, look at the camp sub-section for camp information, so if possible, please keep the camp section and mingle it in the main forum.

I really take issue with your comment: "If a member does not take the time to look at the other sub forums, then they must not be too interested in them in the first place." I think this is a gross exaggeration and is not true at all. Not all of us are extreme techophobes and don't have anything near your technical expertise! Heck, sometimes I feel lucky when I can remember my password!

Merle I don't have much in the "technophobe" department myself. I'm merely doing the job I'm supposed to be doing. Back before the Camp section was initiated, there were a lot of complaints via PMs against so many Camp posts and none of them really addressed Crappie Fishing. As stated, Ed was gracious enough to create a section dedicated to those interested in them. I have an interest in them myself and choose to click on the new threads to check out what's new.

I find it strange that as many different sections, forums, threads and other arenas that Crappie.com offers that some of our members would complain about having to click onto another section as if it's an inconvienence to do so.

We're always trying to figure out what serves this community best and make the changes as needed. I've no problem with the Camping section staying. If it will make things easier for those who cannot click their mouse one extra time, continue to post on the camps in our main Ok forum and I'll move them myself.
