    Default BIG CABELAS LET DOWN

I have been been a long time customer of cabelas by purchasing thousands of dollars online. I have visited several cabelas around the country and would have expected nothing less for Oklahoma City. But, upon receiving a special invitation for a sneak preview on Wednesday and taking them up on it, was disappointed to find that they built us something of less standards. I was expecting another bass pro but instead we ended up with a TG&Y. What a poor excuse for us to now have to pay sales tax on our online purchases. If You are planning on driving a long distance to visit the store please save your gas and just order online. . . . . Anyone else have the same opinion?

I went by it yesterday afternoon and it is what I expected. They announced it to be a small store and it is. One thing I like about it is the fact it has some items that Academy and BPS don't stock. Gives a little better choice. I also knew the fact we would now have to pay tax so I am much less likely to buy any high $$ items like I have done in the past. I'll continue to shop online for my big ones (Shut-Up-And Fish, BBG Marine and Gun Dog Supply have better prices anyway.) Since it's across town for me I probably won't go up there much.

They opened one of the smaller stores in Augusta, Ga which is about 60 miles from me, but I pass it going to visit our son in Atlanta. Several of the folks from here were disappointed in the small size and limited stock so I never bothered to stop in.
Then they opened one in Greenville, SC and I was up there for an event so I met a fellow CDC member at the Cabelas there. Man it was a really nice store. It compares to BPS and Academy Sports and, being new, it really sparkled. I was most impressed with their gun section. They had dozens of used shotguns, some real collectors items. I don't hunt much anymore, except maybe doves, so I got out of there before I got in trouble.
It was one of the nicest sports stores I have visited.

I was let down too. I was unaware of how big the store was going to be. It was small. Even the fish tank. Got to see the new Ranger aluminum boat though. Was very impressed!

That's true. Cabelas carries both ranger and Lowes boats. . . Both very nice brands. I'm sure they will fill their boat lot in as time goes by.

You can count on that. Expect some multi specie boats too, i.e. walleye boats.

Is the store smaller than the Rogers, AR store?

That sucks. I couldn't wait for it to open, now I don't want to see the disappointment.

I have a VA appointment in OKC tomorrow. I'll make it there to see if its as good as the Wichita store. I love going there.
