Just wanted to ask....have you checked all the inserts in your eyes? If you have one that is missing, broken, has sharp edge, that could be the cause of the fragile line. The friction of it rubbing a bad spot on the insert or lack of insert could weaken the line causing your problems. Just a thought is all and something to check. sometimes, those inserts are never noticed to be damaged, but upon closer inspection, you may find something out of place.

Ok, I just got off the phone with Josh at Bonehead Tackle. The first thing I did was apologized to him for knocking his product on an open forum. He stated he appreciated that I took the time to call him and let him know. After talking to him he mentioned that there was a good chance the spool of line I received got mislabeled and could very well be 2 lb line instead of the 6 lb I ordered. He asked for my address so he could send me a new spool and I told him it wasn't necessary because they had send me two spools of braid by accident on the original order and they would not take them back and told me to keep it because it was their mistake. We worked out a deal that I will send him back his 2 spools of braid in exchange for a spool of 6 lb mono.

Now for me to apologize on here to Bonehead Tackle for the bonehead comment I made in an open forum. I am sorry for my comments and with great regret wished I hadn't made them. I have asked the moderators to delete my comments about Bonehead and am currently waiting on them to do so. I am unable to do so, because of comments made after my post.

After this my days of posting on here are going to be slim to none. You guys have a great day and continue to catch crappie.

swollencrappie, as I mentioned I was having trouble with it breaking from the get go. Could not get a knot tied to the jig. I did go check my eyelets on my rods and all are good. Thanks for mentioning that. That is something we all should check from time to time.

I believe Josh and I have figured it out. He stated the spool may have gotten miss labeled and after checking this out the spool I received seems allot smaller diameter than the other 6 lb I have. We are thinking I may have gotten 2 lb on a 6 lb spool.

Newsflash straight from Josh at Bonehead. They are now being sold at Basspro.

Merle, I learn from my mistakes and sometimes my actions get the better of me. I speak before I think. That is why I will not be posting much on the open forum any more. Now if you want to shoot me a pm I will talk all day.

Jamie - don't quit posting!!! Everyone has their own experiences with any product. As I said in my PM to you I don't want to openly criticize a company in an open forum but will not hesitate to give my experiences face to face or in a PM. I believe Merle is like me. If you hadn't had your posting we wouldn't have exchanged PMs. You have way too much to offer to the forum to quit, or even slow down, your postings! Besides, I need someone to help me keep giving Ranger a hard time! We are all friends here.

Hey it was nice talking to you today on the phone. No reason not to post any more. I would be mad to if my line keep breaking on me every time I tied a jig on. Specially if I was loosing big fishing. We will get ya another spool see what you think about it see if it's any better. Hope you guys are having a great day. It sure is pretty out today!!

There is never anything wrong with telling the truth or how a situation made you feel. Josh's reputation on backing his products is solid as a rock. He is one of the very few that does what he says he will do. That is very rare today! NO harm no foul at all in my book. Jamie, Floyd is correct. Please reconsider.

When you are self employed, there are times you take it on the chin. It's business. You posting your concerns openly prompted you to contact Josh. You posting openly let you be aware that something was amiss. It's a natural thang. I've had issues with vendors both in fishing and real life. If nothing's said, nothing's known. Keep posting.

I pour my own jig heads and I really like Matzuo sickle hooks. Every once in a while I will get a batch in that breaks very easily. Nobody is perfect and I believe Bonehead sells quality products. Bonehead supports this forum, as well as several members in the Okie forum. I will continue to use their products for this reason alone.
