Saweet! I only live 1 mile from this lake but never have any luck. Guess I need minnows.
I fished this lake for the first time Saturday. Was only on the lake for about 3 hours and caught over 30 crappie on minnows. Ended up bringing 12 home to eat.

Good job! Never been over there, even though it is only 30 minutes from the house! What kind of location did you find the crappie on? Brush, timber ...
The average depth of the lake is pretty shallow especially on the banks. Deepest I could find was 22' or so by the dam. Lots of standing timber on the West side of the lake but it is shallow. I want to say around 8-10'. Just on the South side of the timber I believe is the creek channel and is deeper in spots. The timber is so dense that in my 1248 Jon boat I was having problems navigating. Some standing timber on the South east side of the lake too. I've had plans of going back out to the lake but just haven't made it.
There are 2-3 creeks and I've caught some fish in the timber on the edges of those but I have never caught one over 9.5" long and never very many on any trip. I've only fished WW in the hot weather tho'. I guess I need to try some minnows also.

Hit my neighborhood lake this evening after work for 2 hours. Fishing was really good. Landed 9 crappie. 6 @ 9" and 3 @ 8". No minnows were harmed and all thrown back to live another day. Had a good time even though nothing but dinks. Was casting and dragging South and the West tree line.
