My oldest loves it. Trying to get my youngest hooked. My boats to small for the 3 of us so i think good bank beating will allow him to run around some when he loses his patience. And might help me with my patience with him. Lol. Momma loves wetting a line too so should be a nice place for all of us. We will head out there Saturday after soccer games. We have tried some at Aftons before they closed it with no luck from the bank. Do any of you know if aftons is back open? Wanted to try jugging in the river there this season. Thanks guys. You are probably looking just over an hour from Coweta to that bank fishing in Crowder. We live in Broken Arrow and it takes us about an hour and a half to go door to door to our place down at Arrowhead (Canadian exit off H-69, which is about 5 miles north of Crowder). Last weekend I made a trip to McAlester and there were tons of vehicles pulled off the side of the road and I saw lots of bank fishing. You can get minnows from the little gas station/store just inside Crowder (take the first exit off H-69 for Crowder and go East back over the highway and follow the winding road into Crowder -- the store will be on your left). They sell minnows by weight, not by quantity. You can actually just go across the street from that store and get to some of that same bank fishing -- and not be so close to the highway in case the little ones want to run around a bit. Good luck and let us know how you do.

What about the low water dam area over near Pryor. Would that be a good place for crappie? I've heard of sand bass over there.

Take highway 51 out towards wagoner. After you cross the navigation canal, it will be your second right. Take that road straight back and you can't miss it.

Going down that road, off to the right (before you get to billy creek) is an oxbow that you can bank fish from too.

Hope this helps some, let us know how you do!
