Thread: Skiatook or Copan

It's been a few days since I've been out, but before this last cold front they were catching quite a few close to the bank at Copan. Normally I would have expected a strong push toward the banks with the full moon tonight, but not sure how the water temperature will affect that. I've been fishing from the bank, so I'm not sure what temps are running now.

Thank you for the feedback. After checking some reports, I am heading down to texoma. Word is they are on fire down there-

Me and a buddy fished Copan yesterday and brought home 44 fish. The fish were shallow, and the water color was terrible. A 1/8 oz black, and buggy looking T - Bone jig was by far our best producer. If the water clarity had been decent, I think we would have limited out easily.

Great report! I'm going to try to get out there this evening before that cold front gets here.

Had some clients fish Eufaula Sunday and Gary said on Copan they had been catching some really quality fish in the bushes in 1' DOW..females loaded and biting....he did say it was alot muddier than Eufaula was...Good Lord you should be able to walk on the water there I told him if it was muddier than Eufaula......Ranger

Last weekend we ended up going down to Texoma and slaughtered them. 3 limits with ease two days in a row and tons of throw backs. Draggin' jigs. i have a new St Croix rod 'EYE' series that I think is the best jig dragging rod I have ever owned. Anyone wants details on the rod, just let me know.

Maybe Sunday I can get out on Copan. BTW, I flew thru Denver tonight and it was 30 degrees and SNOWING hard!!!!

Thanks for the report Okhunt. I have been wanting to head down to Texoma ever since I saw a striper fishing show were they were catching 1.5 to 2+ pound crappie as by-catch going after stripers casting big jigs. Darn those slab crappie keep gettin in ma way tryin to catch these here stripers.

Fished Skiatook last weekend Apr 27-28 caught 24 Sat & 25 Sunday mainly females in 1' foot of water jigs & minnows both
