2012 OKIE Crappie.com Classic
The Classic will be on Lake Eufaula on July 28th,it beat Ft. Gibson by 1 vote. The check-in and weigh-in site will be taken care of by Ranger09 and Eufaula Boy, hopefully in the next couple of days. The hours for the tournament will start at 7am and be in weigh in line by 3pm. The Registration will be 0530-0630 at the determined site. Entry fee will be $ 100 per team of which $20 will be big fish. We will pay 50% for 1st, 30% for 2nd and 20% for 3rd. We will pay 2 places in big fish, 70% for 1st and 30% for 2nd. We also have over $1000 dollars in donated prizes that the top placers will be getting. It should make for a great tournament. We also will be having a fish fry after the tournament with the days catch. Plan on attending, please see the thread started by Ranger09. Bring an ice shest to put in your boat to keep some extra fish that you are not going to weigh so we can have plenty to cook, We want to invite your family and friends to the weigh-in and fish fry. I will be out of town until next Tuesda,y so any questions get with Mark (Ranger09) or Brian (Eufaula Boy).

You might want to check with the Senior Citizens Building in Crowder to see if they will rent their kitchen facility that day. They're pretty user friendly and it sure would be nice to be out of the heat that afternoon. Place will easily seat around 100 and if we could gather there for the fish fry, it would sure enhance the day. Just saying........

Now for a more serious matter and I can feel some of your pains but.....
I have recieved personal PM'S and phone calls with your thoughts about the tournament being held on Eufaula. I only had 1 vote and I chose Eufaula as well as some of the rest of you. I could of voted for Ft Gibson just as easily but didn't due to the summer time players on that lake. Can I catch big fish on gibson and be competative..yes I can..can I catch big fish on Eufaula and do the same...maybe...But it comes down to this. Are you a crappie fisherman or not. Can you catch crappie or are you willing to get out of your comfort zone to try. It only takes 1 fish or 7 to win. So stop your griping and lets move on.
We started this for fun and getting to know your fellow CDC members and make freindships during these get togethers or tournaments. We as a group have done what we thought was best for all concerned to not give 1 group or team an advantage over another and your voices have been heard and thats the reason its being held on EUFAULA...
We will be having a meeting at the fish fry to set up our next year tournaments. So if your not there your voice can't be heard. So please get your thoughts together and all will be heard and written down for the purpose of putting together this up coming tournament schudule....Mark McGuire

Amen Mark!!! We posted the rules and have abided by them all year. Everyone who fished 2 tournaments had the right to vote and after everyone voted Eufaula won by 1 vote! No one has any right to be upset! Now had one lake won and we decided to have the tournament on a different lake, then people should be upset. With that said I would have showed up and fished no matter what lake won. Eufaula is the farthest lake of the 4 from my house, but I will be there. I couldn't vote for Ft. Gibson due to the pleasure boaters and lake lice (jet skis). I hope everyone isn't missing the point of these tournaments. They were started to develop friendships amongst our members, share tips and techniques, and promote crappie fishing. I don't think ESPN will be there no matter what lake we fish or who wins. I will quit my rant with this, if you want to be a part of a good thing and what it stands for show up and fish the tournament, invite your family and friends to the weigh-in, invite them to the fish fry, get to know everyone better. I have truly enjoyed meeting everyone and hope everyone who fished 2 tournaments shows up to fish and comes to the weigh in with their families. See all of you on the 28th.
