C'ville. Not really a fisherman, just thinking about it.
southwest mo. east of joplin. wanting to fish grand lake north east end any advice.
BeagleMan go to Bernice and fish the bridge piers there at the main bridge and also go farther back into the creek <horse creek> and fish the other old bridge I would think you could catch them there they are comminunity spots but they hold lots of crappie I personally hate grand lake but have been spoiled by Ft Gibson and Oolougah
Spencer Creek, good area for crappie. Try the old pump pipe right across from the boat ramp. I helped build and sink several brush piles this last september. In all, there were a total of 96 brushpiles sunk in the Spencer Creek area that day alone. Check the points, the steeper bluff off the RV park area in about 19' of water. I have a list of waypoints for all the brush sunk that day, but no idea where they can be found on the net.Originally Posted by spectater
Living where you do, you should start working Bluff landing all the way east out 71st street. Some of the best Crappie fishing of my life has been up Adams Creek. You should be able to start finding early slabs, and I mean SLABS spawning by mid February. Hit the feeder creek to the left after you go under the bridge. Start working the brush along the bank once you get to where the creek is about 4-5' deep in the center. If you find some, you may not ever fish anywhere else again.
