spring gobblers and watching bobbers is good and great, but I prefer Autumn and Winter- deer, ducks, geese, quail, and lots of big crappie

Speaking of spring gobblers and watching bobbers, I hunted turkeys this year while crappie fishing. The land I hunted had a big pond and the turkeys roosted on the back side. Killed my bird and cleaned it on the dam while I had several rods w/ bobbers out.

Maybe a 12 point buck would be a bit better. That's what I am looking for before my grandson gets him.

I'm all for the fall, especially right now, 3 days into rifle season and I'm having to go back to the bow, darn 3 deer limit. I don't think I topped rigrunners deer but I couldn't resist this 8-point after watching him for 15 minutes at 30 yards. He went 174 after field dressing. My weekend was made when I took my buddy with me who has hunted for 6 years and never killed a deer. We got him limited out opening day. It was a weekend neither of us will forget. It was just as exciting for me guiding him as it was for him shooting. I think you can tell that from his smile. Good luck to everybody who hasn't gone out yet or is still hunting.

Zinsurance....Nice deer guys. Rigrunner says he would rather see me-a California Bambi person- get a deer than himself. He taught me all I know about deer hunting in the last 6 years. Never shot one before that and now I get 2 or 3 a year.
