My son harvested a 9 point this evening that weighed 174 on the hoof. No one will believe unless they know me. It was harvested in downtown Okla City. 16" inside spread, scarred from battles and had 2 puncture wounds in his hams. He had been burning alot of fat off and appears to be an old grizzeled deer. His forehead was covered in green bark shreads. Apparently he lost one battle and was gored on the way out of the door. This buck was the smallest of 3 mature bucks. A 20 yard bow kill. We smelled him before we found him piled up in a green briar patch. A nice first buck witha bow. This boy has been tagging behind me since he was 5 years old hunting and fishing now we have changed places
. He just turned 34. We both have been blessed. Lifetime of memories made and being made. When he found the deer he nelt (sp?) and said a prayer over his ability to harvest such a fine animal. It brings tears to my eyes just rethinking the evening activity.
