    Default Spider rigging

Anybody have luck with this in winter pattern?
I've never tried at all and just set the boat up a couple weeks ago but have had no luck. This winter crappie fishing is humbling for sure!

I spider all winter. I use double minnow rigs with drop shot weight on bottom from 1/2 to 1 ounce depending on depth. Work really slow in the 0.2 to 0.4 range. I let the weights bounce off bottom along rocks and work deep water brushpiles. Pull up to them and hold before I move to the next one. If I get bit, I will hold over it until they stop biting. Always move into the wind. You have a lot less hang ups with the drop shots than the standard caps n coleman rig when you are working the bottom. I've had good success running the bottom hook about 20 to 24 inches from the weight.
