Been doing pretty good in Grant county. Getting ready to head out to a burnt field in Kay county. 21 in the pile.

Went to Kaw WMA and saw few birds but lots of hunters. Most concentrations I saw were around beaver creek and south of there. Almost all the fields are planted with soybeans or overgrown with Johnson grass. Think I could do better sitting in my back your with a pellet gun!

Been out twice more. 14 with my first Eurasian.

Had just finished putting in my food plot and driving out when clouds of dove were flying in. Looked at the phone and saw 3 minutes of legal shooting time left, so ate up a minute getting the gun out if the case and getting loaded. Killed 4 in the last two minutes. That was fun.

Nice A5, looks Belgium. I grew up with a 1100 and my uncles A5's. Still shoot them from time to time.

Sweet 16, Belgian made. 1946 vintage.
Came by the gun at a farm auction about 10 years ago. Owner passed away, son was selling everything. Told me Dad came home from WWII, and bought an A5 12 ga for himself and the sweet 16 for his wife who developed cancer and passed before shooting it. Dad put it in the gun case and only took it out to wipe down and oil. It was unfired when I bought it.
