Taking a friend out to set jugs for catfish next week. I am planning to go up North of the winganon bridge and lay them around the flats and river channel. I haven't set jugs in years so any input would be appreciated.

I was upstream Sunday where the sediment has the river 12' and the standing timber to the east was 8-10'. Cats are thick up there and can be caught with a shallow bobber. I watched a fish from distance swimming straight for me. Right before it go to me, it veered t pass in front of the boat. It looked like a big Channel Cat. I flipped my jig out in front of it and the Beaver Bottom Bait was an instant hit. The Huckabee Pro Series Rod did its job and wore the 4lber out. It was sure talkin fast when I brought it in the boat. I understood that she wanted me to let her go. I had no problem with that and thanked her for the fight. I wouldn't set a jug line deeper than 3' below right now. You should have a great day of jug fishing. I was hunting Crappie but came across more cats, sandys and hybrids. I hooked a couple of cats that straightened out my jig hook on the quick. Came out of the area with only 1 Crappie 12" but all others were dinks.
Reaper, Where Fish come to Fry
Fresh cut shad. That's all I can offer.
My friend Lee and I had a good morning on Oologah. We got on the water about 0630 and were off by noon. We caught 75-80 fish and kept 28 over 10 inches. All caught on 1/16 oz Timmy Tom weedless jigs, double dipping brush in 8-12 fow. Best colors were blue/white and salt and pepper. Give me a call or PM me and let's go on a half day morning trip.

Common sense isn't always that common!
Damn nice odie i have been out there this week of course in the middle of the day due to work and havent had any luck. I fish blue bc its the closest to my house. Went yesterday had 5 10" and half dozen dinks in 8 to 12 ft of water dipping monkey milk and orange slab slayers. Of course heat of the day but that has been my best trip in last couple weeks. Always good to see someone slaying them puts that fire in my belly.
I caught 36 keepers after work last night on minnows in brush, 10 to 15 fow.

I used the Oologah 2015 Corps of Engineers Brush Pile Maps today but having a hard time finding the piles. How long do the piles last? Maybe the ones I have been looking for are wasted away by now?? I'm using Down Imaging and Side Imaging.
I put in at Spencer.
