ErieAngler, I've been fishing some mid-lake fishing spots. I've heard the bite has been good on most of the shallow spawning areas of the lake. Find good spawning banks and you should catch some good fish.

Fished out of redbud sat morning until 2. Fished redbud area and blue creek pretty hard. Water temp was 54 to 58. Blue creek was a little murky but overall the water looked good. I ended the day with 2 12 in crappie a 21 in largemouth and a 20 in walleye. Slow day but quality fish. I was happy to get my first walleye in Oklahoma. Hopefully the crappie will improve

LOL...just saw this post....NO WAY does that guy look like me! I'm much better looking! Besides, I still have my 'Winter Coat' on. Haven't had a hair cut since this time last year, so I'm pretty sure my hair is longer than his! LOL

Lol...He sure does look like you Don, you're in denial, practically twins if you ask me. Ok, you might be a lttle prettier. But if you cast out and drag a jig along with your rod tip close to the water like you're carolina riggin for bass like my buddy Danny does, we really need to talk... just sayin lol.

Size: 35.1 KBFished most of the day today. Water temp was 56 in the morning at sunnyside ramp. I decided to run over to Spencer creek and try in that area. I ended up with around 15. They were caught with minnow and cork and jig and cork and a couple casting a road runner. Earlier in the day they were hanging out around 5 or 6 feet deep. Later in the day they moved up onto the bank. Sure was fun getting to see the cork go under. Saw several peope catching fish, but nobody just tearing them up. Maybe 2 or 3 fish per hour. All the males were very black and the females still had eggs but looked like they were about to pop.

Another cool thing, Edwin Evers was at the ramp in the morning. He even offered to pull my truck up so i wouldn't have to bank the boat. Super nice guy.

Kansas rains came down the river yesterday and has added another one foot plus to the water level. Oologah is now .7 ft above normal! I heard yesterday that minnows were the ticket and the males are still shallow with the females still hanging a little deeper.

Fished the Talala creek area yesterday and had some fun. The bite was good early for us and then slowed way down around 11ish: so we packed it in about then. Brought home 23 really good fish in about 4 hours of fishing. All were caught jigging. Water murky, but the fish would sure bust it if you put it in their face! Nice to feel that aggressive thump and catch some good sized fish! Looking forward to some warmer days; sunshine, and a return trip!

Hey Ciller: they were shallow for us. 2 to 3 ft would be the best estimate. Man.... would they bust a jig!!!
