I went to Redbud yesterday to see if I could get out on the dock and check the damage to my boat. Still too much ice. Couple guys fishing on the other dock through holes they had cut in the ice but the bite was pretty slow. Minnows seemed to be the bait of choice.

Thanks for the report on the ice at Oolagah. Getting crappie fever. Tried below Kaw dam Saturday but no water flowing, so was a bust on any fish. Might go below Oolagah dam this weekend and try for whatever will bite.

Do ya'll think Oologah will be fishable by Saturday? If not, I suppose I'll have to go to the tackle show.

I got a report from a very good friend that the Talala Creek area has thawed, it's my guess the temps and strong wind have done the trick (just a guess). Hook up and go, it's time to fish!

Well I bought the display model at BPS and installed it on my boat. I assume there's no ice left on Oologah and going to go play with it today. I bet there's gonna be lots of other boaters on the lake today.

Well Riverc I gave it a good trial run yesterday, playing more than fishing. I ran the unit alongside my lowrance 332c sonar unit. It was interesting to see the clouds and arches and blobs on the 332c and see them on the dsi. The blobs were well defined brush, trees, branches. The only letdown was how it lost the bottom if over 40mph speed. The 332 didnt have that problem but the dsi is, I think, made for slower speeds and much greater detail. The dsi actually swhowed the individual fish in bait schools as the 332c showed more of a cloud. Both units showed the same targets. I didn't see or understood that I was seeing too many target fish around spencer creek. Talala had lots of shad and some other fish but I only caught one crappie for the day. I saw bigger fish around spencer but didn't have any catfish bait. I don't know if the dsi has a screen shot eature where you can post screen shots but I'll play with it and figure it out.
