Went Sunday with a couple of friends from 5:30 to 10:00 and we caught 18 keepers and quite a few throw backs. The fish weren't biting as good as they were Saturday, but we still caught a good mess. I think the bite was off because there was no wind at all early in the morning. I always have trouble when the water is slick and there is no wind at all. Wouldn't you know it, about the time we decided to go the wind picked up a little. Like Kenny said, I've noticed a thermocline the last few weeks. A good rule of thumb is if your minnows on the hook are dieing, you're fishing below the thermocline. The fish we caught were in 15 to 19ft and we caught the majority of them about 3 feet off bottom. I did catch our biggest fish that weighed 1.34 on a jig, but I couldn't coax another one to bite. We caught the rest drop shotting and tight lining. We also caught a lot more throw backs today than we did on Saturday. The best part of the day was getting there at daybreak and watching the fish surfacing and feeding on the mayflies.

Glad to see folks getting out. I've been working so much lately and I don't think I'll get a break until September. Too bad most of the work I'm doing is for myself and not a customer. I'm remodeling my new digs. Keep the reports coming.

Went this morning with a friend from work and caught at least 30 or so. He took them home with him and I don't have any firm numbers yet. Minnows, brush piles, 12 to 15' deep, some suspended, most on the bottom.
    Hey, tell me a story!

Went out Sunday from 6:00 to 10:00 and fished solo. Caught 50 and brought home 25 keepers. I caught drum, catfish, bass, sandbass, and crappie. Everything was hungry this morning. Didn't catch any big fish, lost a couple though. Had 2 good ones and got them right up to the boat and they came off. Fish were running smaller than usual today, just good eaters. Fished in 15 to 16ft over brush and caught them from 8ft down to just off bottom. I'm not sure how many little ones I caught today just guessing at 25 but seemed like 50. I ran out of a half a pound of minnows at 10:00 and used every one of them plus a few dead ones. Caught 4 or 5 fish on jigs, but minnows were what they wanted today.

Went out Sunday morning from 6:00 to 10:30 and must have just been lucky. I caught the crappie in a feeding frenzy with thunderstorms in sight moving in from the north. Luckily the storms were moving really slow and I only saw lightning once or twice from a long distance away. I was a little apprehensive about staying until 10:30 the wind was picking up and the storm was close by. I kept looking over my shoulder wondering if I was staying to long, but I sure didn't want to leave with the fish biting so good.

Somehow I must have actually counted right and ended up with my limit of 37 keepers in the livewell. I sure need to get one of those counters one of these days. I had some good fish today, I think I had 3 over 13 inches and on average the fish were bigger than last week. I don't know how many throw backs I had but I bet it was at least 20.

I fished over brush in 16 to 17ft. I tightlined for several hours at 8ft over the top of the brush and later dropped down to fishing just off bottom after that. I caught the majority of the fish on minnows, but the crappie went nuts over my jig too. I caught quite a few big fish casting a 1/16oz pink head with a Bobby Garland baby shad in licorice. I had one fish bite it so hard it broke my line... sure would've liked to seen him. It almost knocked the rod out of my hand it hit so hard. Man I love it when they do that.

Just one of those special days when you catch em in a mood to feed with a storm moving in. I wish I was that lucky all the time. It sure felt strange being out on a
cloudy day after months of 100+ degree days. Life was good today.
