Fished with Terry Clark and his Gr'Son Tyler yesterday pulling jigs on main lake banks and points. The crappie were more scattered than they had been and were hitting really short but we were still able to catch some nice fish with the biggest at 1.48lb.. DOW was still in the 8' to 12' range and we were able to get Terry's HDS 7 adjusted and ready for a fishing trip.....Ranger

Can you describe what you mean by "pulling jigs"? I think I understand but maybe not.
Nice!!
Achiro, what we are describing when we say pulling jigs is, first let me say something about the rig we are using, I personally use the Meat Dragga Rod MH with 10lb line (Vicious Hi Vis is what I am using) and 2- 3/16 oz or 1/4 oz jigs about 14" apart. We are letting out enough line to touch the bottom on occassion. We are slowing pulling the baits thru the water at a determined speed dictated by the bite. Right now it is somewhere at or between .50 to .80mph by GPS. If the fish are hitting short speed up alittle and this will help in getting a good hook set I have found.
During the POST SPAWN period we use this technique but pull the jigs at a higher speed and cover as much bank as we can to find the spread out crappie. When doing this technique during this period we are putting out as much as 14' to 16' of line and pulling the jigs as fast as 1 mph to 1.30 mph. You let out enough line to again bounce the bottom at times.
Hope this helps and Good Luck....Ranger
