Talked to Barry Monday night and he had a 2 man limit for the day behind a nasty cold front that came through the night before into the morning. The wife and I are fishing with him middle of April, three nights at the Falls Inn BB, can't wait!
    Hey, tell me a story!

The Falls Inn is a great place to stay. The lady that runs the place is a great cook.

Caught a few yesterday around noon fishing down south of Crowder. Was surprised to catch a 12" female that was almost snow white. Very little color and I guess she had been in deep-cold water, took the jig (blue and white baby shad) at 10 feet.

Brought her home along with the others and was going to take a pic of her because she was so white, but oddly enough, she must have warmed up in the water coming home and wasn't white anymore...... got her natural colors back.

Anyone else ever seen this? Just curious.

yes, Crappie turn white when they stay out of sunlight but the longer they are exposed to sunlight the darker they get.

Default North vs. South Eufaula fishing question??

This board is great and there is a lot of valuable knowlege to absorb here. I have a question as a newbe: what are everyone's thoughts about the North vs. South end of the Big E for crappie fishing? I have a place on the far north end and sort of grew up there with my grandad who built a house there years ago. I actually have never fished or boated on the south end (which I guess I would say is south of HW9). Anyway, it seems like a lot of folks are discussing the south end and I was just wondering what the everyone's take was on the difference. Curiosity mainly... Thanks for any responses!!

I'd like to fish graves creek off 266 but not sure if it's navigable due to water levels. Anyone been at Graves creek or know if the water level will let a boat go downstream from the ramp ok?

Putting a boat on this lake now due to low water and obstacles that otherwise would be under the water is risky business. People using boats on this lake are using caution and driving slowly in areas they are unfamiliar with.

Although the lake has been slowly rising in the last two or three weeks, it is still almost 4 feet low. Large rocks, tree stumps, and other dangers lurk only inches beneath the water.

Many people find themselves at the boat repair shop getting an estimate on a lower unit replacement or new props. One little fishing trip right now can be really expensive unless you take it real easy and have some knowledge of the underwater terrain.

I wouldn't put in right now.

Sorry, I don't have any details on Grave's creek.

Ranger, I haven't seen anyone fishing Blocker bridge lately. I fished it about a month ago and didn't get a bite, haven't been back to fish, but cross it often when I go down to Massey Point.

I've had other people tell me the ramp area of Arrowhead Estates is a good place to doodle-sock and I may try it when the spawn kicks in. I fish from one of my buddy's dock really close to the ramp and have been catching them a few at a time.

Down in the cove south of the boat ramp, the water gets really shallow and crappie fishing has never been productive for me in this area. Sadly, this is the water that touches my lot and even though I am just a short walk down to the water, few if any crappie hang out down here.

I have to get in my truck and drive somewhere to catch crappie.

    Thanks Stinkfinger
I'd have been on water by now but when I ionstalled a new downscan imaging unit, I left one wire off the battery terminal. Found out this morning that it was the onboard charger negative wire. Bummer, now I'm impatiently waiting on charger to get enough juice in the starter battery. I think I have enough to get through the day if I'm wrong I'll know somewhere during the day. hahaha......anyway I think I'll go back to Oologah if you think graves creek is too low to get around safely. I cant afford a lower unit and dont need to buy a new prop yet either. Like to keep it that way. Thanks for the update on water levels.
