    Probably its a good think I'm not God because there's been a few idiots I've had dealings with at lakes over the years that would have heard;

    "You're time is UP!!!!!" right before they disappeared in a puff of smoke.

    The next time that happens to you, KILL the minnow and they will hit it. I've found that there are times when using minnows, the Crappie will hit a dead one while not touching the live one. It must be a movement thing.

    Hey guys, I got smoked on Oologah pretty bad last weekend. I was thinking about heading down to Eufaula this weekend. Has the timber bite started turning on yet or is it too early for that?

    schifendecker,

    Surface temps are getting mid to upper 80's. Caught a few on wood on Monday. Probably worth a shot.

    Woke up Saturday and saw they'd changed the forecast again. This time for the better. Hardly any wind. So as a last minute decision, I decided to go down and try Coal Creek since I didn't want to fight all the pleasure boaters at the "real" boat ramps. So me and my Daughter headed South for an afternoon chasing the Crappies.

    Got there about 11:30 and hit some 6 to 8 ft water along the rip rap. The water was muddy and I didn't hold out much hope, but started bringing in a few dinks. Went on up the creek and started hitting the timber and found the dinks there as well. About 2:30 my Wife called when she got home and informed me she had invited some friends over for dinner because she didn't know I was going fishing. She says that I didn't tell her, but we all know better than that, don't we!

    Anyway, ended my trip early just about the time they were going to turn on I think. Boated two 10 inchers while I was on the phone to her. Headed back to the ramp and turned the twin 10's loose. Just got loaded when that little popcorn shower showed up. Was a good trip in all, even as short as it was.

    I was catching the fish in 6 to 8 ft of water on blak/chrt beavertails along the rip rap and about 3 to 6 ft deep in 8 to 10 ft of water around the timber.

    If that water clears just a little, it should get hotter than the weather!

    Well I finally have a few days off from work to do some fishing. I decided to head over to Eufaula to do some night fishing and of all nights it decides to storm on us. About the time the fishing started to pick up the wind also picked up and made it hard to fish. We kept only 7, but caught about 20 total counting dinks, sand bass and catfish. May go and try it tonight now that all the weather has moved on. All caught on minnows about 10-14' deep.
