I've fished down to Blocker bridge, but never much south of the bridge. I've always been scared to go around Juniper Point. Heard it gets very shallow.

Most of my fishing has been in the triangle, Longtown area, and in Longtown creek.

Hey Bob how have you been???.....we usually will put in at Hickory point which is in Gaines Creek itself....you are not far from Buffalo creek and we usually fish the area around there...you can go up or down the creek and find areas that look good...in the tournament we double dipped in 6-10ft of water right off the main channel...EB and Odie usually put in toward the mouth and fish from there up the creek but i am too scared to run that area....there are plenty of oxbows with stickups in them in both areas with channels easy to find....lots of log jams and then coves that run off of the channel with trees.

Now we do fish the arrowhead area to Blocker and that is good...plenty of points...rip rap...brushpiles etc plus it has alot of coves with brush in them as well...we use large jigs (3in) most of the time.....it works for us...its not too far for when the north end is kicking our tails

    Thanks DrNip, Andy, and Ranger......

Andy, we sold the cabin, dock, and monster pontoon last summer. Bought me a new boat, so now I get to travel to a lot more locations. I got to get down there and check Gaines Creek out.

I hope it picks up by this weekend. I won't be able to do much fishing till Saturday evening -- we are having a storm shelter installed. But as soon as he's done, I'm headed to the dock. According to the fishing weather app, the moon will be "underfoot" around 7:26. We had pretty good luck going by the fishing weather app last Saturday, so I hope it's the same this Saturday.

I did see a couple of bank fishermen last weekend catch a couple. Not nearly as active as it has been in previous years though.

Without the new electronics with great mapping of our lakes and sharing info on a daily basis it couldn't be done. Andy is righ about the snake getting in my boat lol. It was really exciting. EB

Bad day at Crowder yesterday 3 boats 7 people fishing only 2 crappie over 10". Was told by two that fish quit biting when cold front came in Easter week end. Water temp 63-65 fished water depth up to 18" deep. Used minnows and many different type and colors of lures.

Been there with the snake, I'm not sure exciting would be the word I would have used EB.
