They work well but these have a long way to go to be finished. 3 more costs of paint and then the 5 pieces of terminal tackle to go. 81 fish so far today so I guess it's worth the effort.

Dang right it's worth the effort. It is extra special to catch fish on tackle you have put together yourself. Hook and 2 split rings equals 3...What is the other 2 and are they mostly fished vertical?

Yes vertical deep. A swivel to keep the line from twisting and an 00 Colorado blade to provide a little flash. From the white in the last pic I will lay them flat on a piece of wax paper and paint one side chartreuse. After drying dip once I clear and place some glitter on the wet clear by pouring glitter in you hand and blow the glitter across both sides of the spoon. Then dip one more time in clear and install terminal tackle. I have received lots of suggestions on easier was to paint but this works well for me. Admittedly the vinyl paint is expensive and I do have to package them individually. I just buy the bags from China by the 1000.

Do-It mold # CC-4-A, Form # CC-14. The mold makes 4 different size spoons so it's 1 at a time on the pour unless you have a need for the other 3 sizes. The forms are purchased by the 100 so I make them by the 100. I use them in tandem with a 1/32 oz tube jig when fishing in excess of 25'. I fish in brackish water so I use a #4 stainless split ring with a #10 swivel. I may have left full instructions on my post earlier this year.

Thank You Kindly Wrangler.I appreciate the information and help.Had been looking at Do-it's listing of spoon molds.I try to buy production molds of all the same size but that is not always offered unfortunately.I did get to look at your albums and enjoyed it.You produce some really nice tackle.Have you ever tried powder paint on your spoons?A guy would have to do some heat shielding while warming the spoon for the paint to protect the wire form eyes.....Just wondering...
I asked the question but since realized your contrasting paint scheme would not be possible..............

I use powder paint on jig heads but not on spoons. It could be done by purchasing a powder paint pot but the powder paint would probably be more expensive than the vinyl paint. The solution to powder paint getting into the eyes is to straighten and heat a paper clip with a propane torch and pass the end of the paper clip through the painted shut eye. The hot paper clip will pass through the eye without resistance. I have used the vinyl paint for many years with good success. Another problem with using powder paint is that it would be difficult to apply the glitter. I have made spoons with and without glitter and the glitter makes a profound difference. I can only assume it gives the appearance of scales. I don't cover the spoon with glitter just a few pieces on each side will provide good results.
