Had some buddies fish yesterday and they ended up with 15 nice crappie in 4 to 10 fow on minnows around Osage Cove area. Said the bite stopped around noon.
A lot of new inflow coming in yesterday. Lake went from murky to muddy where I caught them Monday. Bite was tough yesterday.

With the lake level up, down and muddy with a lot of inflow, we have been fishing for blues the last couple of weeks and catching a ton of fish up to 30 lbs on rod / reel. Was running my locator one day this week looking for shad along a ledge and found what I thought was a large school in about 12 fow. Threw my net and had over 100 1 to 2 inch crappie. Dumped them back in the water moved down a ways and same thing. This school was over 30 yds long and all small crappie. Must have been thousands in the school. Never seen this before. Don't know if it was this years spawn or last years but the future looks good.
Here we go again fellas. This is todays lake level and inflow charts. They are gonna use these from this spring to design a new roller coaster. Got hammered with heavy rain last night Kansas got a ton. Happens every Memorial weekend.
On a more serious note fellas anybody coming to Kaw this weekend to fish or play PLEASE BE CAREFUL! Tried to go up in the river yesterday and had to turn around because of all the debris coming down. It is going to be dangerous on the north end of the lake this weekend. A lot of big trees etc. coming down. All it takes is one big log just under the surface. Stay safe
That's the best thing to do. Seems like if they have anything that floats it is out there. Funny how many people back their boat down a ramp they haven't used in a year and expect everything to be fine. If we go out it's at daylight and we are off the water by 10:30
Redge LIKED above post
I am going to stay home and go to a farm pond and see if I can locate some more bluegill. I stay on private property during the holiday weekends to stay away from the crazy people. It is safer.
