Good Luck fellas.

I got my report about all ramps open from the ODW fishing report. Evidently it was wrong as a couple of days later I saw in the local news that there were still some ramps closed. Sorry about the misinformation.

No biiggy. just figured I might save someone from heading there to find it was still closed. Was that you on Ponca the other night beside us when the fish came up?

That was me. Been hitting the hybrids around daylight. Thought I'd go the evening you were out there.

Are there any different regulations on hybrids at Ponca? And could you point a bank fishermen to a good spot to throw? The dam has been way too crowded lately

The deep channel runs close to the NE corner of the new bridge where the old dock was. I've seen them schooling in there, and just outside the heated dock at daylight.

I went out to Kaw this morning. Saw them launching at sarge creek, so that ramp is open now.
Didn't do much good. All little sandi's and 6" black bass in open water. They were probably chasing the schools of shad. Saw fish on the locator. Tried minnows, jigging and trolling crankbaits. Just a few dinks.
Saw no thermocline until getting past pioneer marina. I suspect the current in the narrows of the bridge had it stirred up.

Plan to be at Kaw in the next few days with kayak....I really don't know Kaw all that well, but I think I fished once at Washunga(sp) & by the marina??
and did quite well but its been years ago.
Is there any way that someone could point me in a general direction :-) or spot to fish within a 1/2 to 1 mile or so?

Most likely will stop at Lake Ponca also...Do they allow fishing after 10pm in the park??
All the saugers that I caught last March were all just a little low off the slot but had a great time.
Thought about slow trolling west riprap & around the water inlet tower for crappie??
    Thanks.

    Christopher

Sorry CR I didnt see till just now. Went out this am and fished piles on main lake 12 to 20, WT was 85, caught 7 that I had in the box between .75 and 1.5 and a chitload of dinks,, felt good to get the bites though. All came from verticle jigging 1/16 jig paired with a bonehead slimstick, salt n pepper, didnt crap till about 10 and was off the water by 1, wasted the better part of the am trying to find some hybrids to no avail.... Good luck fellas!!!!

I was out this am as well. Launched out of coon creek. That high water sure cleaned that place up. All the driftwood piles are gone! They still need to dredge the cove out though.
Wasn't out to fish, just to rescue a buddy that was stranded. He set out jugs last night, and around midnight was sitting on a sand beach with the stereo going in the boat waiting to run them again, and ran his battery down. No signal on his phone, so he waved down some boaters around daylight, and got them to call me.

He tried to start it with the pull rope until he was exhausted. When I got there, I wanted to try it myself. Turned the key on, and it started first pull. He forgot to turn the key on when pulling the rope......
