I figured today would be the day! I remember a few years ago they opened up gates in like January to test them or something and a ton of fosh were killed. There were so many stunned blue cats that it looked like you could walk across them

And how soon is too soon to start trying for crappie around the ramp?

I saw people fishing at the ramp yesterday. Actually they were all over the place. Saw a couple of sandy's and some small channels caught.

Hope they release through the rooster tails, hydro and aeration tube and not the gates.
I'm sure it will be gates though.

If it is gates, it will be a day or two I'm thinking before it gets good at the ramp.

Here is a pic of the dam under construction in the 70's. My cousin owned the land on the west side of the dam and all the way to where it turns.

I saw that on FB earlier. Very cool photo. I am heading out there right now armed for cats, crappie, whatever will bite. The cabin fever is bad!

Saw that on my way home.



Launched the canoe and put out 20 drop lines from trees. Baited with live perch and goldfish. I'll see what happens in the morning. The coves are clearing up. I had about 2' visibility at the back of coves. Green water.
The main lake is like chocolate milk.

Looks like fun. Let us know how you do.

Lost two baits, and caught a 14" crappie on a perch.
Sure expected better.
