Size: 124.1 KBGood day on Kaw earlier this week. Kept 21 fish over 1 pound, only 2 shorts the whole day. 16 of them were over 1.25Lbs. Top 7 fish weighed 13.88 Lbs. Had three that were 2+ Lbs. It was not easy fishing, had to grind it out, but it was rewarding if you could fish slow. Fish were from 8-18 feet deep. Used 1/4 TT jigs with various baits. It was more about presentation than color or style-- just getting it front of them and holding it there UNTIL they bit.

Ran the long poles today 19 to 22 fow fishing 12 to 17 ft deep. Caught some good fish under shad schools. Wind was tough today had to stay on trolling motor. Water temp was 44 deg and murky. Big fish was 15 1/4 inches. Didn't weigh any but had some 2 plus lbs. Missed a lot of fish because of wind blowing boat around.

Thanks again TimY. I'm excited to try Kaw for the first time ever. I'm hoping to wet my line on Monday.

Where is the best place to launch? The wind will be coming from the South Monday. I'd like to stay out of it as much as possible.

If the wind stays around 10 to 15 like they are saying it doesn't matter. If it gets higher Washunga.

Caught some footballs today. About as wide as they were long. Had to push double minnows rigs into brush piles on spider rig to catch them. Shad had to be close by to get bites. Ended up with 20 nice fish in about 3 hours. Water temp went up to 48 this afternoon. Lot of people on the water and they were moving a lot. Most were fishing where they normally do this time of year and were having a tough day.
