Fished on Saturday. The muddy water had made its way all the way to 5 fingers area. Anyone been on the lake since Saturday that knows what the water charity is like?

Fished yesterday for a couple hours. Lake is muddy in the river channel from coon to Sarge creek and clear everywhere else. Water temp came up to 44 deg. Caught a few fish on black/chart but tough bite. Didn't have any minners in the boat. Wind was an issue in the afternoon and really limited to where you could fish. Fish are moving around a lot so have to find them every day.

TimY. Do you find when part of the lake is muddy and part is cleaner, that the fish are easier to catch in the cleaner water?

My personal preference is stained water vs clear water. Not mud but stained. What I have found over the years is crappie will hold tighter to cover in stained and muddy water more to keep oriented to a location and to protect themselves from other predator fish. In muddy water I believe scent attractors such as crappie niblets, are really beneficial along with a small willow leaf or Colorado blade on the line above the jighead that puts off extra flash and acts as a rattle when it contacts the jighead especially when using artificial bait. Minnows are hard to beat in muddy water.

Just took a drive around north end this afternoon. Not a boat at Sarge, Washunga or Pioneer. Kaw is tough this year especially with a west wind. Going to hit it hard this week. The fish are not where they have been in years past and I think people are getting disgusted. Been like fishing a new lake. This time last year you couldn't find a parking place. They are still here just have to find them.
