If I was you I would fish shallow...if you fish it during the spawn then thats where those slabs will be when it heats up.....Ranger

River is a quick run from FlatRock- there are some big lay downs on the main river channel that are fishing pretty good. Since you will be there during the week, you shouldn't have to deal with too much Wake Board/ Sea Do/ Drag Boat traffic. They have been wanting minnows if you can keep them fresh- Attached is a goodern from last weekend.Name: photo[1].jpg

Guided EB today on the lower end of Gibson doing what I do best. CAST AND DRAGGIN wood and rocks. We started fishing at 8 am and had our limit alil after 1pm. We caught Cats, Drum, and Crappie today and a few Rock Bass as well. We ended up with somewhere between 45 to 50 total crappie with some really nice blacks and whites. Alot of keeper fish mixed in. Most of the fish came from 8' to 12' DOW. Not all wood were holding fish and if you casted over it 3 or 4 times and didn't get bit it was time to move. Same for the rock piles as well. Baits of choice today we Bobby Garlands in pearl and blue thunder and Slab Bandits in burnt crawfish colors.....Ranger

crazy, EB can afford to pay double so thats what I charged him..lmbo...naw we had a gr8 time and he isn't to old to learn new stuff....I bet he buys him a UL Falcon 6' and a new Shimano Reel before long to cast and drag with...he had a blast and liked to entise em to bit as well...Its not often you get to fish with a feller or woman as far as that goes that has the same passion for crappie fishin as I do...But EB does, and he is also like me as he wants all the knowledge he can cram into his brain so he can be a better fisherman and provide the best service possible for all to enjoy.....ok I preached enough already..just remember I charge him double.......Rofl...Ranger

Guided today for Mike Webber from OKC and we ended up with 26 crappie and a mixed bag of whites and blacks. Our bigger fish were blacks and beautiful fish. We started at around 7 and got off the water around 3. If it hadn't been for the breeze it would of been a total burn out today. I stopped and talked to bowman and jonboat today also. Jonboat has a new Z20 Ranger and it was a pretty thing to say the least. Makes a Ranger man like myself want a new boat. Fish today came from alot of places from wood to rocks and from 7' DOW to 16 DOW. just couldn't put any 1 depth together. Our best pile came was in Jackson Bay and we took 6 fish off it before they spooked and it was in like 11' DOW and our best rock pile was 12' to 14' DOW. Baits today were Slab Bandits in pearl and burnt crawfish and Bobby Garlands in blue thunder and black shad. Even caught a few on a red/chart super tube. The fish were scattered to say the least and we talked to several today and they were having a tough time. Redge I have a few things on you now that ole CUZ let me in on...Promise I want hold it over your head......Ranger
