Fished the River today and had EB in the boat with me, putting in at Rocky Point and ended up with 18 nice crappie. About an even match between Blacks and Whites. The bad thing was most of my stuff I had marked were on my handhelp GPS and not on my boat unit and the handheld broke a battery terminal plate on the positive side. I can't fix it and I didn't have the cig lighter plug in with me so I was in the blind for awhile. But we fished enough stuff to catch a nice bunch of fish. Baby Shads in Pearl and Blue Thunder then Slab Bandits in Pearl and Jokers Wild did the trick today. DOW was shallow and most of our fish came from wood in 5' to 7'. We did catch a few on up the river about 4 miles from Rocky Point in 14' to 17' DOW. Cast and Drag method finessing the wood was the technique today used to catch all of our fish.......Ranger

Default gonna try Gibson - all advice appreciated.

I plan on coming over to Gibson on the 20th for about 3-4 days. I haven't fished there since the late 80s when I was fishing the bass Red Man tournaments. I can't bring my travel trailer cause I can't drag it and the boat both. So, I'll be in a tent. What are the better Corps campgrounds (I have a Geezer pass) with electricity (for the boat and a fan) and easy lake access to the southern portion of the lake. I plan on fishing below Hwy 51 bridge this trip.

It's supposed to cool down a little and I would come next week but my wife has a quilt camp then and I need to stay home and watch the dogs.

I'll be in a 17' black and gray Lund. If anyone comes to visit I'll even put my hearing aids in.

    Floyd,
Sequoyah Bay on the West side is the only campground I know of and then theres Wildwood in the 14 Mile Creek arm. Western Hills also has a few campgrounds also. Thats about all the options you have Floyd. Good Luck in your fishing venture.....Ranger
