    Hello all, been a while since ive posted much bout fishin. Went today to EF and had fun. No size to the fish we caught but caught prolly 30. Be lucky if there were 5 keepers mixed in but as always all my fish swim another day... minners and jigs.

    Craze Did you get that new motor on your boat? If so how is it doing.That is a hard lick but what is a person going to do? Thinking about going to meldahl about Wensday .Have you been there of late,thought maby I would see how friendly the lock master is.

    Joe the lock master is a good guy, i have had dealings with him with the fire dept. Member of W.T.F.R. I can see the neville ramp right now from 2nd floor of the F.D. Joe has done a lot for us. some almost got ran over near the wall so i can see joes point. it is really dangerious on the wall or near it. All stay safe and MERRY CHRISTMAS Thanks Dave

    Watergate!!! Sorry man I didn't even know you asked me a question in this post!! Motor is in key largo florida right now. Nobody, including the idiots at mercury could figure it out. a well known engine builder (chris carson marine) called me after seeing one of my posts on bass boat central. He had me do some checks one engine including a "leak down" test on the motor. when I did the test and got back to him with my findings he said he felt sorry for me.... I asked him why and he said the motor was worn out and was just losing power due to worn out power head. Motor went to him to be rebuilt....... going to be $4,500 bucks...... Sure wish I had all my money back from Dixie marine, I could just about pay for the rebuild with what they got me for saying it was an injector, coils breaking down, throttle position switch, and the list goes on.......... And worse of all, being without my boat for close to a year now...... And someone figured it out over the phone???? Oh well, as I was told a long time ago by an old fishing buddy.

    BOAT stood for bust out another thousand..... Oh well, nothing like having over 9K bucks in just trying to get it rolling again....

    Sounds like you will have a new motor with a old cover .Wish you the best ,problems like that can make you pull your hair out. Is Chris Carson sure this is the problem?If you need some help when you get it back give me a pm. I will be around till March.

    I wish larry...... When I get my boat back if its not fixed Im not sure what im going to do but im going to be fishing one way or the other............

    You know how it is when a nice boat has a junk motor on it.... Its just not worth squat........ I love my boat.... Just need the darn engine to run right.

    I know this sounds scary and will put into perspective how bad ive been had on this boat.... I bought it for 13K and will have right at 9K more in the engine when it comes back to me. That's 22,000 bucks.......... I could have had a HELL OF A LOT nicer boat than what I have for that kinda money!!!! Oh well, I was just dealt a bad hand...... just gotta move on. LOL

    Well, I called mercury with my leakdown numbers. They said that was def at the tipping point of getting a boat on plane and not. I asked them why the hell none of there certified mechanics didn't try this and he said they prolly didn't because they did a simply compression check........ What Ive learned over this whole process is that a simple compression check will only show that there isn't anything terrible going on in each cylinder.... my compression numbers are the same across the board at 110 psi which according to Dixie, sherms marine, and several others is fine. I highly recommend anyone buying used to have a leakdown test done...... It will show you the TRUE amount of energy that is getting past your piston rings. Hell Dixie was even willing to take the boat in on trade but I cant stand the thought of having a payment on a new boat.

    Hopefully this will be it!!!! If only I was a dishonest person I would have sank this thing and collected ins money a looooooooong time ago!!! LOL
