So we got some devistating news Friday, his tests came back and he has confirmed cancer on his tongue again/still as well as the possibility of having it in a few other parts of the body. This has been a terrible year...
Thoughts and prayers for sure. I agree that he is in one of the best hospitals with some of the best docs around. You are doing what is best for him right now. I am sure he would understand. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

So the prayers unfortunately did not work, dad was rushed to back to University last friday with trouble breathing, after some test they found therto be fluid around one of his lungs. They drained 3.5 liters of fluid and sent some for testing to see if there were cancer cells. Just got the news today that he now has stage 4 lung cancer, the doctors said chemo would only prolong the inevitable, but they said he is too weak for chemo anyway, waiting to hear whats next, not sure if they are going to move him to hospice or how long they are giving him. i know last week the doc said with just the cancer on the tongue without treatment he was saying 6-12 months. i just feel numb....
It's a tough time for sure , hang in there for him.
Just remember that each day he is on earth there is hope. My prayers are with you and your family.
Loosing a parent is tough as hell. No matter how long you have to prepare for the end it still hurts like hell. I lost dad 10 years ago February and I still miss him every day. Tell him it is OK for him to go and tell him anything and everything you want and feel the need to tell him. When he is gone there is no more chance to say any of it. If you have young children or grandkids that may not remember him make some videos with him sharing some thoughts and memories the kids can look at to know your father from more than stories and pictures. To me that is the best thing we can do is to keep his memory alive in future generations. I am very sorry for the pain you are going through. It don't get any easier, just tougher. Prayers and positive thoughts for you and your dad.
