I asked this same thing back a few months ago, I'm considering doing the same thing. I hear fishing the docks is all about the timing.
Hey everyone,
My buddy and I are heading up to Catawba Island to visit my Grandma and thought we'd try to do some Crappie fishing this time. In the past it's been all walleye and perch. I figured that around the docks in west harbor would be good but just in case I'd like to have a plan b. Any help would be great. My uncle said we should try around the coal dock in Marble head. Also I've never fished sandusky bay but if you think it's worth a shot I'd be willing to try. Thank for your time.

I was up there last weekend. Tried west harbor for about 2 hours. Water was 50 degrees. Only a few bluegill. headed over to the portage river. Found a crappie there. I am sure they are in the west harbor I just couldn't find them.
