Why so deep? Thanks for the report. It was good talking to you and wishing you well this weekend.

Fished Indian for about 4 hrs Thursday- 54 water temp to start- climbed to 59- the lake was very stained to muddy with the majority to the muddy side- found 12 crappie (black) all male starting to wear their spawning colors- fishing 12-18" below a cork around laydowns- tried pads & nothing- Stingers in blk/chart & yell/white. If the lake clears some I think the fun will commence!

Pretty much the same here. Fished the afternoon shift and water temps went from 57 and muddy on the east side of the old lake up to 61 in the afternoon in stained water on the northwest side as well as Dunn's pond area. Only 2 in the boat, 1black with mask on and 1 white, both from wood on jig. Water clarity is the key now that we finally have the temps up. Maybe by June?
By the way if anyone's interested, my partner got a couple of the "anchor poles" and they work like a charm on Indian as shallow of a lake as it is. Fishing from a very wind susceptable modified deep-v, you stick those anchors in and ya ain't going nowheres, pull up clean from the bottom also. Best fishing invention since the rod n reelThumbs Up
Fished Friday for 3 hours, the morning bite was on but slacked off as noon approached. Had 15 nice fish, mostly males. Fished Saturday after the minor front and it shut them down big time. 4 hours on the water and lots of throw backs and only 14 keepers. Fosh are still shallow, threw acid rain stingers.

I fished all day Sunday. Sorry for the late post, but fishing was great. I did limit but had to sort through a lot of small fish. It seemed like every 5 -10 feet there was an 8 3/4" fat fish. Did find bigger fish but they seemed to be on old wood next to the bank. There were also a ton of 6 inch fish about three feet off the bank. They were fun at first since they were so aggressive, but they became annoying. I did not try the pads but I did see quite a few people fishing them.
I fished about 6 inches deep with the a black and chartruse tube. The fish were all in spawning colors and there tails were ripped and short.
Fished last night from 4 till dark. Had 10 keepers lots of short fish. The only female I had spewed eggs allover when the knife hit her. Going to buckeye sat. Hope the front coming in don t hurt them too much. If it does guess I try the gills.
Fished Saturday before the front and was flat out worn out!!! Caught over 100 fish, threw back 15-20 9" fish. Of the ones I cleaned 60% were females with eggs, just not busting with alot of eggs. Saw and caught several spawning. The females were off of the cover approximately 10 feet off of the bank. I purposely fished Saturday prior to the front from 6:45 til 1:00 pm. Most fish were 10 - 12 inches, I had 4 at 1 lb. and one a little over. Nothing huge but a ton of fun. The BCC will be there Saturday, hopefully the bite will be good for them.
