Prayers for the young man. 2004 We went trough a similar struggle. Our oldest son was 19, and riding without a helmet. Going down a county road, he took a turn too fast, lost control and went head first into a mailbox post. Three weeks in intensive care unit and two surgeries to relieve pressure on his brain. He pulled through but is permanently deaf in his left ear. I can't stress enough how important helmets are when riding atv's. No matter how long you've ridden or how good you think you are, an accident can and will happen in a fraction of a second.
I hate to hear about Taylor. I will pray with all my heart for his family.

Prayers sent for family and friends. This is sadly a tragedy that happens far too often to young people (too young of people) on ATVs. I drive past a homemade cross every day that stands beside the highway marking the place where a 15 year old died riding a trail bike on the highway when he lost control running (an estimated) 70 mph. I am (and have been) counting down the days until we have a (another) serious accident or death in our neighborhood... as young folks (kids) continually speed up and down the highway at all hours of the day and night... many times with one or more (helmet-less) passengers riding on them.

I get it... I really do. Much like it was when I was young... young people (I was no different) think they are indestructible. I guess the only difference NOW vs. THEN is: We didn't have access to anything that ran 60 mph or more like the kids do today. We had a gas powered mini-bike that struggled to get to 15 or 20 mph. I have mentioned this to some friends of mine with the NC Highway patrol and the county Sheriff's Dept, but they are quick to tell you that they cannot catch them... and are afraid to give chase which might cause a serious crash too. What do you do???

Prayers for all affected. I can’t imagine parents suffering such loss but you know the LEOs and First Responders also I deal with such scenarios the rest of their days.
