Best thing about the high water, you can duck out of the wind for the most part with a bit of planning. Last year with low water and high winds everyone was a sitting duck so to speak. Most folks I see catching are local, employment status unidentified, fishing from 16' or lesser length boat and using only one pole. Never know until you go, spent many a day wondering, fretting or delaying my weekend to see some awesome pics or report on Monday. Heavy rain, dangerous wind or lightning I'm out, any other weekend day and I'm free to go I'm all in! Ain't caught one from the couch yet
It's not that they can't be had , simply not into non desirable conditions . Having retired 7 years ago allows a little flexibility as to when I go . I target state lakes Mon-Fri. as I still drive a school bus . All that will change May when the bus job ends . Just got access to a cabin on Sardis and through a member on site, a key to one on Grenada .I may have to get some of you to show me how to catch them though .
