    Take them to Clays bait shop in Tupelo.....he has a guy that comes by and picks them up for repairs and cleaning. Also Kidds Baitshop in Pontotoc... Mr.Kidd repairs them....If the bait shop is closed go to the Butcher Block resturant next door....Mr. Kidd owns that and will be in there cooking.

    Turn the reel on it's side and put a couple of drops of gun oil where the thumb bar goes through the case. Let it sit like that for 4 to 6 hours. Turn the reel over and do the same to that side. Sounds like the brake plate needs a little lube. That's the easiest way to lube it without removing the side plate. The brake plate is on the handle side.

    If your looking for line counter reels, I wouldn't bother with repair, buy you some of these and replace as needed. 3rd year on my original 8 reels, if they go I will buy a replacement. And I'm known to pull a crank bait two or three times a year..

    I have 12 of the Okumas...don't want to mix and match if I dont have too. this was my 5th year on that Okuma. Those Shakespeare's seem to do a good job from what I have seen

    get a dough burger while your in there. Butcher Block has the best I've ever ate !!!
