We used those very same traps when I was in the pest control business....marshmalows work great.

We bait the duke dogless traps with canned cat food placed underneath the trip lever, then place marshmallow on top of trip. We have also used minnows just work them under the trip or you will get some bait stollen without tripping the lever in the trap. The coons just can't resist and will work hard to get all the bait around and under the trip lever.

We have caught over 70 coons around our deer feeds this year. Those traps are amazing!

Just make sure the coon has expired before you try to get him out of the trap. I have had a couple of cases where the coon wasn't completely dead, and my .22 was just out of reach! Lol!

Fur Harvesters trading have dog proof coon traps $12 on page 3 of the new Catalog. My little bro gave me 2 of these Jewels. I used Peanut butter for bait. Having 5 of them at a time Raiding Corn dont leave much. My Trail camera showed a coon charging a big Buck and ran him off
