    Default question on vacuum sealers

It seems that food saver is the big name in sealers, but there are many different model numbers. does anyone have one they like and if so would you share the model number or perhaps another brand you would recommend? thanks W.S.

Food Server is a good brand. Don't buy the stand up models, they use too much bag. You will have over 2 inches
of tag on each end of the bag.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I have had the Foodsaver big game series for around 4 years and narray a problem. It has the little cut off sliding razor blade for cutting bags. Has a tray to hold bag roll. Has a base that flips up for storage and makes it real narrow. Also has the ports and comes with the adapter you can use with vacume seal containers.

I have a Foodsaver 2244 that's a few years old, $20 at the auction. If I start with small bags and go to large bags it does fine. If I start with large bags and go to small bags it won't vacuum.
I have a Harvest sealer that's a couple of years old, $10 at the auction. No complaints.
After a seal is complete I let the machine sit for 10 sec to set the seal better before opening. I double seal both ends.
Best price for bags I've found is at Sam's, there might be better deals out there.
