Nope, it would be closer tho. Take a reading and adjust accordingly, make you map match your depth finder reading. Most of the time that is not the same as the pool readings and what you would think.
This is probly been covered a million times but I missed it and im new to the high tech electronics. Im wondering how to use the water level offset function. My home lake grenada fluctuates alot and im hoping this will help me out. How exactly do I figure the offset? Say for instance rite now our full pool is listed at 215.00 and water level is 202.40 so its 12.6 foot below full pool. Would I just set the offset to -12 and roll on?

Yep, like Rees said. Get on a contour line on your chart, read the actual depth and adjust accordingly. You're good to go!
GOOD LUCK, Drew!

Going further with what Reese said, the reason you can't just adjust from summer pool level to current level is you have to know the lake level when the map was charted. (for a corp lake the level could flucuate a lot during the period of charting) If you knew the actual charting depth then you could adjust a lot closer but you would probably still have to set it with actual depths as Reese said.

Erin, let's clarify something. Are you talking about the offset in the Lakemaster chart or the offset in your unit? 2 different things. If for chart what the other guys said is the way to do it. But your unit has a offset feature in it also. It can be used to offset death for transducer in the water.
