Sorry to gear about your truck Snubbys....Which engine is it?...I bought a 2000 F350 -7.3L in 05 with 180 K and it's over 418 K now.....Have had to work on it to keep it rolling but it is still plugging along.....Is there any chance of finding a wreck with an engine to swap?

Man im sorry to hear that! That cummins should be a good one though. Our company has replaced just about all of our field service trucks with hino's and Im scared to death of it. My last service truck was a chevy 6500 with a CAT 3126 in it and it was a monster.

It's the 6.7 Powerstroke / Scorpion made by Ford. The 7.3 you have is a great engine made by International, yours should be just about broke in. And going to weigh the options, I can use the service bed I have off the old one so that saves $9000. May not worth replacing even with a used engine just to try to re sell, lot of folks scared of a 6.7 already, a used replacement motor make it even harder to sell. May just end up having to part it out and scrap the rest. Dodge is interested in a trade in on the one I still have running, they probably will have that one as well in a few weeks.

the Ford 7.3 was a AWESOME engine and would still be in the trucks today if the Government would have stayed out of way !!! they said the 7.3 was replaced because of its inability to meet newer emission requirements !!!

Hate it for you bud. Was hoping it was going to be just the turbo. Think I would place a call to ford corporate customer service before I did anything. Can't tell they may just help out.

Thanks guys! And yes Mr. Charlie I will be placing a call to Ford, just going to wait until tomorrow until I simmer down a bit. Either way the truck will be gone, go sign the papers tomorrow afternoon at Landers Dodge and will have the truck by Wednesday.

And yes strmwalker, emissions is killing anything diesel now a days. It has even effected the walk behind concrete saws we use, the older saws we have are air cooled Deutz engines 60hp turbos and are true beast. The newer ones have to be emissions compliant and are now liquid cooled, the performance and life sucks on those. Deutz, Cat, Kubota are really no longer interested in trying to keep up for the concrete saws, Yanmar is about the only left to jump thru the hoops for our industry.

And Cummins, can get a 110hp turbo for a concrete saw, but that is way to much overkill for my service work.

Sorry to hear the bad news on the truck. The diesel emissions crap is killing that industry.
