I have a Scag Wildcat with a Kohler on it and have had zero problem out of it. It is now 8 yrs old and cuts 3 acres every week or other week. My dad has a Exmark and he borrowed my mower to cut some rental property he has. The next week he went and bought a Scag. The ride is completely different and tons of power but this is just my opinion, not trying to knock Exmark but just giving out info.

Being a retired mechanic on of the first things I look at is ease of maintenance. Ex mark, Deere and some of the others are pretty hard to get to things like the engine and to do belt changes. Looked over a Bad Boy yesterday. Couldn't get any simpler to work on. Undo a couple of bolts swing tank and console out and you can do anything including engine swap with ease. And not many of the way more expensive mowers built any tougher than that mower. Even I would have trouble tearing it up and that's saying something. On the Exmark engine, my understanding is that it is built by Kohler to Exmark specs.

Got a huskvarna I've had for 14 yrs. nothing but blades, grease, oil, filters and once on a while a belt. Love the fact I can unscrew 2 knobs and get to the whole deck.

Cray brings up some great points! On the Hustler it is a pain to get to the hydraulic oil filter!!

I own one of these also. I bought it second hand 2 years ago and love it. Any of the top brand mowers should give you very good service with minimal problems.

Just bought my first zero turn. I shopped around like your doing. Got a 52" hustler raptor with a 24hp Kohler. 3 year 300 hour warranty. Paid 3200. Napa In Oxford.

I have a Hustler with a 54 inch deck and have had zero problems. Cut about three acres a week. It has a good smooth cut and not bad to ride. Before I bought this mower I looked at the Xmark with the Xmark engine but after doing some digging found out Xmark does not make an engine it is made in China so I stayed clear of it.
