In summary, I had my trolling motor grounded with a wire under the metal band that tightens to hold the transducer on. Ran that ground wire to the negative ground wire coming from the battery. Had worked pretty good but started getting outages on depth and regular sonar at random. Reworked the ground wire attaching it to the TM by drilling a small hole thru the skeg and securing the wire with a small bolt. Covered the connection with silicon. Now after about 8 hrs fishing everything has been good. I think that was it.
