I'm seeing a lot of talk about ramps not being used at COE level charts. Mostly because of mud and silt in the area. I've seen where some ramps are cleared and the mud/silt is piled up to the side, to be drifted back in.
Now let's look at Memphis,TN. Mud Island would flood every year. A seasonal airport was there for transports from Memphis airport to downtown. Then the Mud Island thing got started. Who was behind it to get the COE to fill it for housing and businesses? Then the widening of the park along Riverside drive which I watched a lot of. Who was behind it?
I can think of many uses if this mud/silt. Maybe enlarge a day use/ camping area. Won't be able to do anything with it for a year or 2. Fill in some low spots and gullies in the areas.
Who do we talk to? Lake managers don't get it done.
