I've passed every test as long as I can remember, but have never been able to trail a dying deer. Maybe if I fail a few test now and get some glasses I'll be able to trail.
They've come out now with glasses for the color blind. I didn't know such glasses existed but they're out there and apparently work. I've been waiting for hunting season to try em out. They come with a 30 day return policy in case they don't work for you. I've never been able to blood trail a deer so I've been pumped up at the prospects of solving that problem. Anyway, I took their online color blindness analysis today and found I have the most severe red green deficiency you can have. Glasses for me will more than likely give only subtle improvement. They said it's 50 50 whether they'll work at all for me. If you're a deer hunter who's color blind you might want to check em out. I've read good reviews by those it helped. Enchroma.com is the one I had settled on, but there are several others. My grandson is 13, color blind, and loves to hunt...I hope these will change it for him. I know there's a lot of color blind hunters who haven't heard of these glasses. I hope this will help you.

Not being able to see blood has changed the way I hunt. Never in the afternoon unless I'm with someone. Otherwise I'm subject to being in the woods til 9 or 10 pm if I shoot one late, have to go find someone, find the deer, get him in, skinned and cleaned. In my drinking days that was a great adventure that I did not want to end. Now, I'd rather be home with the wife. Guess i'm a full fledged geezer.
If the deer turn red with that kind of color blindness, even I might see one.

Best thing to have is a good blood trail dog. Let him be your eyes all you need is ears to hear him.
