Default 2008 Chevy with electrical Gremlin !

I know a lot of you guys are driving Chevy trucks, have any of you had electrical problems ? The truck will act like the battery is dead, then start up like nothing is wrong. While driving down the road the gauges will go haywire, elect locks start going up and down, radio goes out then it shuts down. If anybody else has had similar problems....what was the fix?? The dealership guys act like they have never heard of this problem!

Did you buy the truck new? Has it ever been flooded?

Truck never flooded, it started out with the starting problem . The elect locks and shutting down just started this week, the ground issue could be the deal.

My son's 08 did that. We unhooked the battery then separated the harness from the fuse box and cleaned it with ether. Make sure to unhook the hot post first or you can fry the harness. There are 2 twist style connectors there. His dash was going in and out randomly. Like you, the service techs just stared at us like we had a flipper growing out of our head when we asked. The famous "never heard of that before". Told me they would just start replacing modules until it started working again. Y'all may have better service over that way. Hasn't done it again in a couple of months. Good luck!

If you have a friend with a sensor id You may be able to identify the problem. The hand held unit that plugs in under the steering wheel. The parts houses here will let you borrow one for a few minutes to get the fail codes

Alternator maybe?? Last time mine would not crank every time it rained... Weird.. Finally had a guy climb under there and tap the starter with a hammer and identified the problem.
