    Default air compressor fix

I have a husky(or something like that) 30gallon stand up air compressor--had it plugged in and filling up yesterday and the control knob (the one you set your PSI output with) popped. It has a separate relief valve so this wasn't suppose to happen and seems like the threads on the knob stripped? i can push it in and turn and it acts like it wants to catch a thread but it won't. How do you fix this? Do you change the entire regulating assy or can you take it apart and just replace the knob?

Have you tried a search for the brand name and model number yet?
If the threads on the knob are stripped you can't do anything with it. Hope the threads in the housing aren't if you find a new knob. You may find one at a scrap dealer and get the complete housing to replace yours. Maybe another brand. Might have to buy reduces to make it fit.
Husky doesn't sound like a very good brand. Cheap manf. companies will run 500 K with that name and change to another name.
Did Lowe's carry that brand years ago?

You could try some Teflon tape on the threads.

Can't remember but I think I got it at Lowes. Ill tear into it and see what's what. Probably will have to end up changing the regulator. Would be nice if the Teflon tape would work

Home Depot carries a couple of those size Husky, Air Compressors - Air Compressors, Tools & Accessories - Tools & Hardware*at The Home Depot

If you select one of those models at that link, you can download the owners manual and get part No.s from schematic.
